Overview:
The Engineering Manager establishes, communicates, and leads the vision and strategies primarily for their assigned value stream while working with other managers and teams to ensure efficient work flow inside the organization.
They manage day-to-day operations of, and provide leadership, direction, and technical guidance to, an Engineering team ensuring effective support to manufacturing and post market activities.
The Engineering Manager is accountable for team deliverables, their ability and capacity to complete their projects/tasks, and their individual development.
The Engineering Manager is also responsible for fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and provide direction on priorities, while identifying and troubleshooting challenges.
- Interface and influence at all levels and functions of the organization removing roadblocks and ensuring progress of company and department objectives.
- Define annual department objectives and goals in alignment with local business plan, and organize the team to ensure completion.
- Manage resource allocation and workload within the team and provide project resource estimates.
- Identify and analyze problems, coach and mentor team members through effective problem solving; distinguish between relevant and irrelevant information to make logical decisions; provide solutions to individual and organizational issues.
- Identify and mitigate risks before they impact timelines and deliverables.
- Promote a Continuous Improvement mindset within the team, identifying process improvement opportunities, ensure implementation and decision-making based on business impact analysis.
- Create business cases and get buy-in from other areas of the business.
Lead or sponsor projects and programs to deliver increased quality and productivity- Ensure effective communication and alignment of priorities within the team that are supportive of the local business priorities.
- Collaborate with each team member to identify areas for desired career growth and opportunities for professional development.
- Responsible for constructive performance management and annual reviews of direct reports, as well as job descriptions and training requirements.
- Support budget analysis and decisions for the Engineering department.
- Collaborate with Engineering and CI organizations inside and outside CVI, to promote standardization (when applicable) and best practices sharing.
- Adhere to the Quality Management System and its processes to meet FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Attend, present and provide data for meetings to include project updates, reviews, and decision-making.
- Identify, assess, and communicate staff and equipment needs.
- Participate in selection and onboarding process of new hires.
- Must maintain all training requirements for the position-Lead, implement, and support policies and directives of senior management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in a regulated industry, preferably in a medical manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams.
- Well-developed leadership skills demonstrated over a sustained period.
- Project Management and LSSGB certification preferred- Ability to read/write/understand product documentation- Detailed orientated Self-starter w/good interpersonal/organizational skills- Broad understanding of cross-functional considerations, and ability to influence and persuade peers and senior leadership across functions.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Visio) and databases; statistical software such as Minitab.
Ability to occasionally lift 30 pounds.
Ability to conduct and hear ordinary conversation and telephone communication.
Majority of day spent in clean, climate controlled office area.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
